In June 2009 the Dolomites were named a UNESCO world natural heritage site thanks to their “unique, monumental beauty”. There couldn’t be a more apt description. The Dolomites offer a dream landscape for alpinists and nature-lovers with a varied habitat for wild animals and rare plants.
Summits with fabulous views, impressive tracks and exciting via ferrata climbs are well worth the effort. And in the valley too – framed by the Dolomite summits – there are magnificent hiking trails to suit every level of fitness and for every season.
The majestic Dolomites have been welcomed into the ranks of natural monuments, and not without reason. The rugged rock formations of the Dolomites radiate grace and fascination.
